DreamWorks Animation is bringing its globally popular series to the level of a cinematic adventure — the first in a series — titled “GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE – THE MOVIE.”
Since 2021, when the series began streaming on Netflix, children all over the world have joined Gabby and her friends for one big, colorful party. “Gabby’s Dollhouse,” created by acclaimed writers Traci Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey, is an original multimedia preschool series full of delightful surprises even before kids dive into the fantastic animated world of adorable cats who live inside Gabby’s dollhouse.
In the new film, Gabby (played, as in the series, by Laila Lockhart Kraner) sets off on a journey to an urban wonderland with her grandmother Gigi (four-time Grammy Award winner Gloria Estefan). But when Gabby’s most precious possession — her dollhouse — falls into the hands of eccentric cat collector Vera (Oscar nominee Kristen Wiig), Gabby embarks on an adventure to find and reunite her cats and save the dollhouse before it’s too late.
According to data published by Nielsen in 2024, Gabby’s Dollhouse was the ninth most-watched original series in the world. Netflix expanded the show to a total of 100 episodes, and the 11th season began airing in February this year.
Everything that happens in this imaginative world is deeply rooted in the way children think and experience growing up. The episodes, in which Gabby invites viewers to take part actively, encourage flexible thinking and learning from one’s own mistakes.
The series ranked among the Top 10 most-watched Netflix shows in 63 countries and has become one of the most beloved preschool brands worldwide. It has inspired the production of a line of toys, books, home goods, clothing, original music, a high-quality app, and a continually growing YouTube channel that attracts millions of fans each week.
Gabby’s Dollhouse continues to capture hearts across the globe through theme parks, immersive experiences, numerous events, and much more.
