“Bokeški D-mol” is a professional theater production of the Tivat Cultural Center, premiered on April 8, 2000 on the large stage of the Tivat Cultural Center.
Stevan Koprivica set this story, written in 1999, in the old town of Perast, at the beginning of the 19th century, during Napoleon’s time: Boka is under siege, commanded by the famous Marshal Marmon from Corsica. It is about a state conflict between France and Austria, but little Montenegro is also at stake, which will protect the Boka brothers, although they are not sure that they need help. Koprivica humorously depicts the local animosity towards political consensus – the people of Perast argue in the manner of today’s Montenegrins. As befits a melodrama – against historical and political commonplaces stands a love story, an emotional line that seeks to nullify the evils of history and politics. ” Katarina Šparović, the heroine of “D-minor”, the pivot and initiator of this play, has in itself the specifics of Boka girls (then and today) who cannot find themselves “between the beauty of the sea and the claustrophobia of the bay hills”, says Koprivica. Katarina is a girl who dreams, who sees beyond the “set moral boundaries”.
