About the Performance

The dance performance AJDE! takes us through the rich musical culture of the Romani community. On the most important day of the year, Ederlezi or Đurđevdan — a day of joy, celebrating the awakening of nature, the beginning of new life, friendship, and togetherness — a new love is born.

AJDE! uses its distinctive rhythm and music, along with dance, to tell a story of unrequited love in a predominantly patriarchal environment, bringing Romani music and folklore to life on stage. By showcasing Romani cultural values, the performance aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving Romani cultural heritage and tradition.
